FAQs - Wild Grace Birth & Wellness
What is a midwife? +

A midwife is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in providing comprehensive care for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and women’s health. Midwives focus on holistic, patient-centered care that honors the natural processes of the body while ensuring safety and well-being.

What type of midwife are you? +

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Women’s Health Practitioner, which means I have advanced medical training in both midwifery and women’s health. In the state of Texas, CNMs are licensed, board-certified healthcare providers who can provide prenatal, birth, postpartum, and newborn care, perform annual exams, fertility support, and hormone management, prescribe medications, including birth control and hormone therapies, and offer care in home birth, hospital, and clinic settings. At Wild Grace Birth & Wellness, I bring both clinical expertise and intuitive, holistic care, ensuring my clients receive the best of both worlds—medical safety and personalized, relationship-based midwifery care.

Is home birth safe? +

Yes! For healthy, low-risk pregnancies, home birth is a safe and evidence-based option. I provide comprehensive prenatal care, continuously monitor both you and your baby, and have a clear transfer plan in place should hospital care become necessary. Throughout your pregnancy, I am constantly assessing your risk status to ensure home birth remains a safe option for you.

What if there’s a complication during labor? +

I am trained to identify early signs of complications and act swiftly when needed. I come prepared with emergency medications, oxygen, and resuscitation equipment and maintain a collaborative transfer plan with local hospitals to ensure a smooth transition if necessary.

How do I know if home birth is right for me? +

Home birth is best suited for women with healthy, low-risk pregnancies who desire a natural, undisturbed birth in the comfort of home, want one-on-one, relationship-based care with a trusted midwife, and value a holistic, intuitive approach while ensuring medical safety. If you’re unsure, I’d love to talk through your options during a consultation.

How much is the home birth investment? +

The investment for a comprehensive home birth experience with Wild Grace Birth & Wellness is $7,500, which includes personalized prenatal care, all required labs, and two ultrasounds, 24/7 on-call support throughout pregnancy, midwife & birth assistant attendance at your home birth, birth supplies & tub rental, immediate postpartum & newborn care, plus continued postpartum visits. I offer flexible payment plans to make care accessible, and returning clients or referrals receive a 15% discount. If you’d like to discuss payment options or have questions, I’d love to connect during a consultation.

Does insurance cover home birth? +

Some insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for midwifery care. I can provide superbills for submission to your insurance provider, though coverage varies.

Do you offer women’s health services outside of pregnancy? +

Yes! I provide whole-woman care for every stage of life, including annual exams (pap smears, breast exams, routine screenings), hormonal health support (PCOS, perimenopause, cycle regulation), fertility & preconception care, treatment for infections, pelvic pain, and irregular cycles, and holistic wellness & functional medicine. You don’t need to be pregnant to receive care—I’m here to support your health in all seasons.

How do I book an appointment? +

You can complete the consultation form and schedule a consultation appointment directly through my website or by contacting me at midwife@wildgracebirthandwellness.com.
